These words were taken from a love letter written in December 1899, and have survived the years. “Time is Precious” was written with a sense of longing and anticipation, in a time before phones, text messages and other forms of digital communication. People would wait for weeks, sometimes years to hear from loved ones.
There is one bird, made from handmade paper flying above, signifying the need to use our time wisely and to the full.
I have used a variegated red gold leaf and texture in this painting.
The warm clarets and soft dusky pinks make this a calm painting with warm undertones.
