“Castaways” depicts a group of gulls flying across the ocean, the waves contain asemic writing, unreadable words, carrying messages and conversations across the sea. The soaring birds were created from pre prepared papers, and silver leaf, whilst tiny silver foil stars glisten in the aqua sky, and mica shimmers in the water below.
This painting to me is a daydream, where we drift off into the calm and breathe deeply and relax, escaping like castaways!
