“Dream Sequence #1 ” depicts a group of gulls flying across the ocean, the waves are made from some discarded, broken fishing net found on the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas, I love the way it recreates the shapes of the waves, coming from the ocean itself, it also places a piece of the environment into the work. The soaring birds were created from pre prepared papers, and silver mica shimmers in the water below.
This painting to me is a a dreamscape, hazy and light, carefree, soft.
